Visit one of metro Atlanta’s top-notch indoor water parks or pools. Or, road trip to some splashy destinations a short drive away. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, some centers have implemented safety precautions such as timed reservations, masks, social distancing and limited use of locker areas. Bethesda Park Aquatic Center: Hop on a giant water slide that curves out of the building and back in for a big finish! Bogan Park Aquatic Center: An indoor leisure pool with a beach entry features a giant water slide and water play structures. See website or call for schedule and pricing. Buford. Advance reservations are required.

Indoor Pools in Atlanta

Goldfish Swim School: Family Swim times are offered weekday afternoons in the 90-degree pool, and are open to the public for a small fee. See website or call for schedule and pricing. Johns Creek and Sandy Springs. Prescreening required, family swim limited to four families per session.

Mountain View Aquatic Center: Take a dip during open swim times in a heated competition length or instructional pool. See website or call for schedule and pricing. Marietta. No open swim available at this time.

Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation and Aquatic Center: The city of Atlanta’s first zero-entry indoor pool is inside the natatorium, which honors Dr. King’s love of swimming. City of Atlanta Aquatic Facilities: Washington Park Natatorium, Rosel Fann Natatorium and C.T. Martin Natatorium each have two indoor heated pools. See website or call for schedules and pricing. No open swim available at this time.

Seaventures: A 90-degree salt water pool opens to the public one Saturday afternoon a month. Check with the venue for upcoming dates. Alpharetta. Open swim postponed until further notice.

Splashy Road Trips

The Great Wolf Lodge: Twisting waterslides, lily pads, magic wands, treats, games, and crafts will keep your kids having fun. Rooms start at $250 and include waterpark access. LaGrange. Reduced capacity on water attractions.

Splash in the Boro: During the off season (September-May), two pools are covered with an inflatable heated dome. Visit on Saturdays for Family Fun Swim. Statesboro.

Wild Bear Falls at Westgate Smokey Mountain Resort & Spa: This indoor water park features a lazy river and multiple slides. Kids will love the giant treehouse feature with spray elements and a massive splash bucket. Gatlinburg, Tenn.

SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland: Music City’s new attraction with four acres of combined indoor rides, relaxing indulgences and seasonal outdoor water amenities.
